Acústica Marina received the award for the best project presented in Chile’s central region at the Avonni Awards 2023.
ForoInnovación, the Ministry of Science, Technology, Knowledge, and Innovation, El Mercurio, and TVN recognized the innovators who are transforming the country and the region at the 17th Avonni Awards 2023.
The ceremony was attended by authorities such as the Minister of Science, Technology, Knowledge, and Innovation, Aysén Etcheverry; the Minister of Agriculture, Esteban Valenzuela; the Undersecretary of Finance, Heidi Berner; the Undersecretary of Economy, Javiera Petersen; the Undersecretary of Tourism, Verónica Pardo, as well as representatives from academia, key figures from the business world, and members of the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem.
After an eight-month process, 17 projects achieved the highest distinction in the field of innovation. These projects were recognized as the best in their category by a broad team of expert evaluators and later by a select jury from the private sector, public sector, and academia.
The winning projects focused on addressing key challenges for the country’s sustainable development, offering solutions to environmental, economic, and social problems.
This is how Acústica Marina received the Avonni Costamar ISA INTERVIAL award, recognizing its technology as a sustainable solution to various ocean-related challenges. They stated:
«Acústica Marina uses passive acoustics through hydrophones that allow for measuring, monitoring, and quantifying pollution caused by underwater noise, detecting events of interest in a non-invasive way.»
